Comet NEOWISE is visible in an aurora-filled sky in this photo by Aurorasaurus Ambassador Donna Lach. The photo was taken early on July 14, 2020, in western Manitoba, Canada.

The purple ribbon-like structure to the left is STEVE, an aurora-related phenomenon discovered with the help of citizen scientists working with the Aurorasaurus project. The bright streak near the top of the image is a meteor.

Getting wise to Neowise, our first visible comet in decades.

We only know about this comet since March, but it has been lighting up the night sky lately.

Comet 'Neowise' was seen in the night sky over Switzerland, much to the delight of skywatchers.

The comet disappears on July 23 and NASA says it won’t be seen again for another 6,800 years.

Comet NEOWISE (aka C/2020 F3) is an unexpected and beautiful visitor in our skies at the moment…but how can you see it?

All you need is your naked eyes and a clear northern horizon, plus this video to show you how.

Love it!
Apparently the views were pretty good here in England above the hills.
